“I only want five things,
five chosen roots.
One is an endless love.
Two is to see the autumn.
I cannot exist without leaves
flying and falling to earth.
The third is the solemn winter,
the rain I loved, the caress
of fire in the rough cold.
My fourth is the summer,
plump as a watermelon.
And fifthly, your eyes.”
- Pablo Neruda, from “I Ask For Silence”

Breaking news: actor Tom Hardy was adopted by another dog.
I normally limit my commentary to the tags, but this is a very important idea to me: a webseries titled, “Tom Hardy Meets a Dog.” A biweekly show where Tom Hardy goes to a rescue organization and meets a dog. In each episode, the following steps:
- Tom Hardy anticipates meeting a dog.
- The dog and Tom Hardy spot each other. There is a moment of mutual recognition of each other’s extreme excellence at Being a Dog. Love at first sight.
- The dog and Tom Hardy bond. Tom Hardy comments at length on the dog’s excellence. Perhaps he rolls around on the floor with the dog, laughing delightedly.
- The dog must leave. Tom Hardy is inwardly distraught, but puts a good face on it.
- The dog, being a dog, does not put a good face on it. They must be forcibly parted.
- Tom Hardy, driving away, meditates on what a good dog that dog was.
- I click “replay.”
